Last updated: July 2026
Tacet, Inc. (“Tacet,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides forward customer lifetime value analytics to ecommerce businesses. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and protect information in connection with our website and services.
1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- Visitors to our website
- Business contacts and prospective customers
- Partners who engage Tacet to provide analytics services
- Authorized users who access the Tacet portal on behalf of a partner
Tacet provides services to businesses. We do not offer consumer-facing services and do not knowingly collect personal information directly from individual consumers through our platform.
2. Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide to Us
When you interact with our website or contact us, we may collect:
- Name
- Business email address
- Company name
- Title or role
- Information submitted through contact forms
This information is used solely to respond to inquiries or provide information about our services.
B. Information Processed on Behalf of Partners
When a business partner engages Tacet, we may process customer data provided by that partner in order to deliver our services.
This may include:
- Customer identifiers
- Contact information
- Order and transaction history
- Product and cost information
Data received through ecommerce platform integrations. Partners may connect their ecommerce platform to Tacet so that we can retrieve the data needed to produce their analytics. Where a partner connects a Shopify store, whether through the Tacet application on the Shopify App Store or through a private application created by the partner, Tacet receives read-only access to that store and retrieves:
- Customer records, limited to name and email address
- Order and transaction history, including line items, discounts, and refunds
- Product and variant information, including cost data where the partner provides it
- Return records
Access is granted by the partner through the platform’s standard authorization flow and can be revoked by the partner at any time by uninstalling the application or disconnecting the integration. Tacet requests read-only permissions and does not write to, alter, or place orders in a connected store.
Tacet does not receive phone numbers, postal addresses, payment card numbers, bank details, or other financial account information from connected platforms.
Access credentials issued by the platform are stored encrypted and are used only to retrieve the data described above.
We process this data strictly as a service provider on behalf of the partner and only for the purposes defined in our agreements.
We do not own this data. It remains the property of the partner.
C. Information Related to Portal Accounts
Partners and their authorized users access Tacet analytics through our web portal. To operate the portal we collect:
- Name and business email address of each authorized user
- Authentication records, including sign-in events, managed by our authentication provider
- Records of questions asked of, and answers returned by, the in-product assistant, retained so that we can support and improve the service
Portal accounts are created for business users at a partner’s direction. We do not create accounts for our partners’ customers.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and improve our services
- Calculate forward customer lifetime value and related analytics
- Communicate with prospective or existing partners
- Maintain and secure our platform
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use partner-provided customer data for advertising.
We do not contact our partners’ customers.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Where applicable under data protection laws such as GDPR, Tacet processes personal data:
- To perform contractual obligations with business partners
- Based on legitimate business interests
- To comply with legal requirements
When Tacet processes data on behalf of a partner, the partner acts as the data controller and Tacet acts as the data processor.
5. Data Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Security measures include:
- Encryption of sensitive information
- Access controls restricting data to authorized personnel
- Logical separation of partner data
- Secure infrastructure practices
We continuously evaluate and improve our security controls.
6. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as necessary to:
- Provide contracted services
- Fulfill legal or regulatory obligations
- Resolve disputes
When a partner relationship ends, we delete personal data in accordance with our contractual agreements.
Deletion requests received through connected platforms. Where a partner’s store is connected through an ecommerce platform, that platform may transmit deletion and data-access requests to Tacet on behalf of the partner or an individual customer. Tacet implements the mandatory endpoints required by the Shopify platform and acts on the requests they carry:
- A request to delete an individual customer’s data results in deletion of that customer’s records from the partner’s Tacet dataset
- A request to delete a store’s data results in deletion of the data held for that store
- A request for an individual’s stored data is recorded, and Tacet assists the partner, who acts as the data controller, in responding
Uninstalling the Tacet application from a connected store ends Tacet’s access to that store.
7. Data Subject Rights
Depending on applicable law, individuals may have rights including:
- Access to personal data
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of personal data
- Data portability
- Restriction of processing
If you are an individual whose data has been shared with Tacet by one of our partners, please contact the business directly. Tacet will assist partners in fulfilling lawful data subject requests.
8. Anonymized and Aggregated Data
Tacet may use anonymized and aggregated data that does not identify individuals or businesses to:
- Improve our models
- Improve product performance
- Develop statistical benchmarks
This data cannot be used to identify any specific individual or company.
9. International Data Transfers
Tacet operates in the United States. If you access our website or services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions with appropriate safeguards.
10. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website may use limited cookies or similar technologies to:
- Maintain site functionality
- Analyze website usage
- Improve user experience
We do not use cookies for third-party behavioral advertising.
11. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
