Tacet. The instruction to stay silent until it matters.

In a score, tacet tells a player to rest, adding nothing until the one moment their voice changes the piece. We took the name because that is exactly what good intelligence does.

Most analytics is noise. We’d rather be quiet, then exact.

The market is loud with dashboards that report constant activity and call it insight. Refreshing charts. Vanity metrics. Numbers that move every day and change no decision.

Tacet is the opposite posture. Stay silent through the noise, then say one precise thing at the moment it changes where your money goes: this customer pays back, that one doesn’t. Act accordingly.

Clarity at the right moment beats chatter all the time. That belief shapes the product, the writing, and the way we work.

After Claude Debussy · the principle behind the product

Four principles you can hold us to.

Traceable to a method or a trial

Measured, not claimed

If a measured result can't carry its interval, we don't publish it. Every number on this site traces to a method or a trial.

Dollars first, engine on request

Sell the outcome, reveal the engine on request

We lead with the dollars. The model underneath is documented in full for anyone who wants to probe it, but you never have to.

Written for the prepared

Respect the operator's intelligence

Our buyers have seen every 'AI-powered insights' pitch. We write to the most prepared person in the room, not the loudest.

Direct access, no layers

Direct by design

The team that builds the models is the team that runs your engagement. Questions go to people who can answer them, not through account layers.

Who runs your engagement

The team that builds the models is the team in the room.

Two domain experts who have worked the returns problem together before. Tacet is the second act.

Peter Sobotta

Returns & customer economics

Peter Sobotta

Peter has spent twenty years on the least understood profit leak in commerce. He bootstrapped recoupIT, a reverse logistics and resale operation, to $15M in annual revenue, then founded ReturnLogic, a venture-backed returns platform for ecommerce brands that raised $15M and was acquired by Redo. A former U.S. Navy Supply Corps Officer, he builds systems that hold up under uncertainty. Tacet is the third company he has built on the same conviction: customer behavior is a measurable financial asset.

David Gonzalez-Cameron

Growth, P&L & retention

David Gonzalez-Cameron

David has spent his career on the other half of the same problem: what a customer is actually worth, and what it costs to grow one. He has founded and scaled consumer brands from launch past eight figures, profitably, turning repeat revenue from a fraction of sales into the majority. He built the growth engine behind an $8.5M Series A. At Tacet he turns what the model finds into revenue your P&L can see: the segments, flows, and offers built inside the tools your team already runs.

We built the growth engine of a returns platform together and came away with one conviction: the leak was never in the warehouse. It was in who the money gets spent on. The model finds it. We close it.

The space between the notes is where the note gets its meaning.
